Abstract
All unilateral cleft lip and nose patients have deformities of the nose. The nasal deformities remain as a major problem for the patient with repaired cleft lip.

The basic pathogenesis of unilateral cleft lip and nose deformities are abnormal position by pull of the lateral facial muscle; hypogenesis of the lateral cartilage; hypoplasia of the maxilla.

The major deformities are curving of the nasal tip to the opposite side of the cleft; and curving of the midline supporting structure;undeveloped the lateral bony platform.

Several methods have been introduced to correct the deformities, but none of the methods are satisfactory in result.

The authors performed suture fixation of orbicularis oris muscle flap to quadratus labii superioris muscle to correction of the sunken alar base. Advantage of authors method are its simplicity and prevention of muscle flap atrophy by suture fixation to quadratus labii superioris muscle.
